Manu Nexo is the artistic name of Emanuel Domingos, born in ’79, in the heart of Portugal’s central region. From an early age music is an important part of his universe. His musical adventure begins at the age of 10, the age at which he entered the conservatory school of Filarmonica Uniao Sertaginense. Following his dream of being a musician, a couple of years later he becomes a full orchestra member playing Sax Tenor.
Driven by his curiosity and desire to learn, it is with enthusiasm that he gets interested in electronic music, the kind of music which at the time, was giving the first signs of frank expansion in Portugal. At 17 he got his first real contact with gigs, opportunity given by Twiins Club, home where she worked from day 0.
Soon his love for hard kicks and strong rhythms, and influenced by the sounds of artists like Joey Beltram, T-1000, Humanoid, Carl Cox, makes him adopt Techno as his main mixing line, expanding later its musical culture with experiences on other emerging genres like Full-On Trance and Psychedelic Trance.
Early decides to leave his home country in search of adventure and better life. Explores and presents gigs in several countries such as the UK, the Netherlands, Czech Republic, Turkey and Luxembourg, before settling on his current host country, France.
The need for stabilization, the constitution of family, takes him to a long phase of stagnation, even considering giving up on music. In the last couple of years, he finally decides to re-launch his artistic career, returning to his first and most loved style: Techno. Offering the public electrifying sets in various sub-genres like Detroit Techno, Dark Techno and Hard Techno.
His rebirth on the musical universe in central Europe is guided by the opening of doors not only in Luxembourg, where he collected frequent passages in the biggest club in the country, Factory12, but also in neighboring countries like France, Belgium and Germany. Manu Nexo also is building up a repertoire of sets on online radios like Fnoob, ClubDJ Portugal, Techno Paradize, FullAudio, RindRadio, Cuebase FM, InProgressRadio, as well as radio manager at WamFm/Brasil. In order to continue his ascension on the Techno scene, he finally takes the decision to focus on production.
